The Trade Center employs five full-time professionals, four consultants and fifteen student assistants. It operates as a federal-state partnership program between the University of Alabama and the U.S. Small Business Administration, promoting the SBA’s export financing programs in Alabama.

The Washington Area Community Investment Fund’s mission is to increase equity and economic opportunity in underserved communities in the Washington, DC area by investing knowledge, social, and financial capital in low- and moderate-income entrepreneurs. This mission is fulfilled by providing access to capital products and services, and capacity building technical assistance to low- and moderate-income entrepreneurs.

Thread Capital works one-on-one with small business owners to identify and provide connections to the optimal financing, networking, and coaching resources for their business. They work with individuals who have good ideas and experience but may have difficulty obtaining financing for their business.

Tierra del Sol cultivates a supportive environment for microenterprise and small business in rural economies by providing technical assistance and access to capital. Individual counseling is offered to business start-ups or expanding businesses to assist with the business concept and plan, organizational structure, financial requirements, and business goals.
