Small Business Breakfast Roundtable: Retirement Benefits for Your Business

Small Business Majority, Representative Linda Chapa LaVia and the Women’s Business Development Center invite small business owners to a breakfast roundtable about retirement options for your small business, facilitated by the staff from the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer and Small Business Majority. We are seeking small business owner feedback to inform the implementation of the Secure Choice Savings Program in 2017, a state-administered retirement savings program for businesses with more than 25 employees that are currently unable to offer retirement benefits to their employees.

The event will include a presentation by representatives from the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer to learn about how businesses can benefit from the program and an interactive discussion facilitated by Small Business Majority. Attendance is limited to small business owners that meet the following:

Employ 25 or more full-time and/or part-time employees

Have been in business for at least two years

Nearly 80% of those who work for small businesses do not have access to a retirement savings option at work. The Illinois Secure Choice Savings Program will help serve an underserved population that wants to save for retirement.

Check-in and breakfast is from 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. The session begins at 8:30 a.m.
